Autumn:
The Word of the whole promnise was delivered from two women.
Matthew 28:5-8
5 But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for
I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the
Lord lay.
7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and
indeed He is going before you into Galilee;
there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you."
8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to
bring His disciples word.
Joel 2:28-29
28 "And it shall come to pass afterward. That I will pour out My Spirit
on all flesh; Your sons AND your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall
dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.
29 And also on My menservants AND on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit
in those days.
Autumn: The 2nd book of Joel, is discussing the end times when the Lord's
spirit is poured out. See Acts 2:15-21
Acts 2
15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour
of the day.
16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 "And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour
out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.
18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in
those days; And they shall prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood
and fire and vapor of smoke.
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the
coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.
21 And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall
be saved.'[1]
RKC: I've got no problem with the above verses. I
don't have any gender biased. I don't believe God does either. He is the
beginning of true Justice. This does not explain why verses like in 1 Timothy are
in the Bible.
1 Timothy 2
1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and thanksgivings be made for all men,
2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and
peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way.
3 This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man
Christ Jesus,
6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony to which was borne at the
proper time.
7 For this I was appointed a preacher and apostle (I am telling the truth, I am
not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
8 I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling;
9 also that women should adorn themselves modestly and sensibly in seemly
apparel, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly attire
10 but by good deeds, as befits women who profess religion.
11 Let a woman learn in
silence with all submissiveness.
12 I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over men; she is to keep
silent.
13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve;
14 and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.
15 Yet woman will be saved through bearing children, if she continues in faith
and love and holiness, with modesty..
RKC: The reasons for giving the above command for
no women to teach is found in verse 8. Paul was trying squash the quarreling
which was found in this church in Ephesus.
Why were these people quarreling…why was their anger? Because these women were
teaching and challenging the interpretations of men. These women were not
uneducated. This was a no-no because of the perceived eternal punishment for
women whom you find mentioned in verses 13-15. If you go back to verse 8-10,
you will see there is no concern for the women's environment during prayer…only
there appearance and ability to follow the "teachings" with deeds.
Autumn: 1 Corinthians 14 deals with the order in the church for prophesy.
1 Corinthians 14
26 What then, brethren? When you come together,
each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation.
Let all things be done for edification.
27 If any speak in a tongue, let there be only two or at most three, and each
in turn; and let one interpret.
28 But if there is no one to interpret, let each of
them keep silence in church and speak to himself and to God.
29 Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said.
30 If a revelation is made to another sitting by, let the first be silent.
31 For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged;
32 and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets.
33 For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,
34 the women should keep silence in the churches. For they are not permitted to
speak, butshould be subordinate, as even the law says.
35 If there is anything they desire to know, let them ask their husbands at
home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.
36 What! Did the word of God originate with you, or are you the only ones it
has reached?
37 If any one thinks that he is a prophet, or spiritual, he should acknowledge
that what I am writing to you is a command of the Lord.
38 If any one does not recognize this, he is not recognized.
39 So, my brethren, earnestly desire to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in
tongues;
40 but all things should be done decently and in order
RKC: There's more to it than just an "order
in the church for prophesy". The real issue is, as Paul went into the
cities and towns which openly oppressed women, why did he conform by silencing
them when he should have been doing what was just by denouncing this practice
and supporting these women in their pleas to speak openly.
Autumn: Acts 21:9, Paul and his companions noted a man named Agabus whose
daughters prophesied. So, why would he write to the church of Corinth
and say that the woman should learn in silence? Because it was a new church and
the woman there were not educated. As many women were not in those days. In the
last days, as everyone agrees that these are,
RKC: Who is everyone? What is their evidence?
Matthew 24
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven,
nor the Son, but the Father only.
Mark 13
31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
32 "But of that day or that hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven,
nor the Son, but only the Father.
Deuteronomy 18
22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the word does not come
to pass or come true, that is a word which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet
has spoken it presumptuously, you need not be afraid of him.
Autumn: …the Lord will use EVERYONE to give the word. Religious spirits and
those who only relied on a formal and powerless form and not a spiritual and
personal relationship with Jesus Christ through faith. Satan tempts us all
(Matthew 6:13) which is why Jesus prayed lead US not into temptation.
RKC: According to James 1:13, God cannot be
tempted. So, if Jesus is tempt able…
James 1
13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted with
evil and he himself tempts no one;
Autumn: The Word is AWESOME! :)
RKC: Awesome doesn't even begin to describe it.
