desertrose6631: Alslam Alaikum, Does anyone know about a website or has some information regarding the contradictions in the bible. I am interested in the gospel of John because a chrisitan friend asked me to read that gospel to find out the basis of Christianity. I need some help here to prove to him that the Quran is God's word not the bible. Thank you

RKC: Wulaykum Asalam

Desertrose,

I just wanted to quickly highlight a few important verses from the Gospel of John. These are all quotes from Jesus(p)...these words support the Qur'an.

A. The Prophet mentioned in Deuteronomy 18:18 cannot be Jesus(p). These priests believed The Prophet and The Christ were seperate men.

John 1
19 And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, "Who are you?"
20 He confessed, he did not deny, but confessed, "I am not the Christ."
21 And they asked him, "What then? Are you Elijah?" He said, "I am not." "Are you the prophet?" And he answered, "No."

B. Here you see Jesus(p) telling a woman to worship the Father. He makes no mention of worshipping himself or any trinity.

John 4
19 The woman said to him, "Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet.
20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain; and you say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship."
21 Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.
22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews.
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for such the Father seeks to worship him.
24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."
25 The woman said to him, "I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ); when he comes, he will show us all things."
26 Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am he."

C. Jesus(p) completely humbles himself...

John 5
30 "I can do nothing on my own authority; as I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.

D. Jesus(p) clearly seperates himself from being God...

John 14
1 "Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me.

John 17
3 And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.

E. Jesus(p) has a God just like us.

John 20
17 Jesus said to her, "Do not hold me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brethren and say to them, I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God."

If you have any questions or want to run any other verses by me, just email me...I may not check this message board in a timely fashion. As others have said, "What Did Jesus Really Say" is an excellent source. I've noticed the webpage is missing some sections of the book. I think it can purhased from www.islamicbookstore.com.
