GWREnterprises: Hi

GWREnterprises: Hi. The problem here lies in the fact that if you are going to quote the texts that speaks of Jesus' separateness from God The Father, which IS the case, then you ALSO must quote the texts that speaks of the EQUALITY of Jesus WITH God the Father. Lets keep in mind that the Jews of Jesus day knew very well what Jesus meant when He claimed equality with God.

RKC: Hello. How can Jesus(p) be “equal” when he says the Father is greater?

John 14

28 You heard me say to you, 'I go away, and I will come to you.' If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I.

GWREnterprises: Lets look>> "My sheep hear My Voice. I know them and they folllow Me. And I GIVE them eternal life, and they shall never perish: neither shall anyone snatch them OUT OF MY HAND. My Father, Who has given them to Me is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them OUT OF MY FATHER'S HAND. I and My Father ARE ONE.

RKC: What is your interpretation of the below verses?

John 17

20 "I do not pray for these only, but also for those who believe in me through their word,

21 that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 The glory which thou hast given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one,

23 I in them and thou in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them even as thou hast loved me.

GWREnterprises: ( Look at this next statement right after..) The JEWS PICKED UP STONES TO STONE HIM.  Jesus answered them, "Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of these are you stoning Me?" The Jews answeErd Him, For a good work we do not stone You, but for BLASPHEMY. And that YOU BEING A MAN CLAIM TO BE GOD. The Jews UNDERSTOOD Jesus claim and they were not mistaken in what Jesus claimed! They UNDERSTOOD PERFECTLY WHAT JESUS SAID. If Jesus were NOT claiming to be God He SHOULD have said, "No, you are mistaken...I am not saying I am God.."  John Ch. 10: v.27-33

RKC: If he were claiming to be God, why didn’t he say, “I am God!”? Instead, he references their “law” (Psalms 82:6?). Maybe the Jews misunderstood what he was saying.

John 10

31 The Jews took up stones again to stone him.

32 Jesus answered them, "I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of these do you stone me?"

33 The Jews answered him, "It is not for a good work that we stone you but for blasphemy; because you, being a man, make yourself God."

34 Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, you are gods'?

35 If he called them gods to whom the word of God came (and scripture cannot be broken),

36 do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?

Psalms 82

6 I say, "You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;
