Philippians 2

5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,

6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,

7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.

8 And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross.

RKC: Two thoughts jump to mind…

1. “He was in the form of God”….just like all of us.

Genesis 1

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

2. “did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped”.

RKC: There is clear contradiction between Paul and Jesus say. Paul doesn’t even quote (red letters) Jesus, but puts his thoughts down as “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:” (KJV). Jesus said…who do you follow Paul or Jesus.

John 14

28 You heard me say to you, 'I go away, and I will come to you.' If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I.

Mark 10

18 And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.

Luke 18

19 And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.

Verses….

RKC: When Jesus is not speaking, its all debatable what “one” means, but when a piece of the trinity makes the same claim the meaning is narrowed and we can determine if a piece is included.

1 Timothy 5 doesn’t even support the oneness of God. It says,

5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,”.

RKC: If I were a Christian, the first verse I would throw out is 1 John 5:7 (KJV), but I think you know that was a verse which Christian scholars have thrown out because its not supported in any of the oldest manuscripts.

Mark 12

28 And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, "Which commandment is the first of all?" 29 Jesus answered, "The first is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one; 30 and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' 31 The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." 32 And the scribe said to him, "You are right, Teacher; you have truly said that he is one, and there is no other but he;

RKC: In the above, Jesus clearly says God is one and doesn’t include himself in the equation. “The Lord is one”, not “we are one”. It says, “love the Lord”, not “love us”. Combine that with the below words from Jesus and your support for the Trinity lies with Paul who fits the description of the false prophet (Msg #  ). Again who’s words have authority. As a Christian, I would think the Christ’s words supersede anyone else’s. Try providing what Jesus said to support the Trinity, if you can.

Matthew 4 (“worship the Lord your God”, not worship us)

10 Then Jesus said to him, "Begone, Satan! for it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.'"

Luke 4 (“worship the Lord your God”, not worship us)

8 And Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.'"

John 20 (“my God and your God…..he separates himself from God in the same manner as we are separate from God)

17 Jesus said to her, "Do not hold me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brethren and say to them, I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God."

John 17 (“the only true God”…..he separates himself from God)

3 And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.

John 4 (“we worship…the Father in spirit and truth, for such the Father seeks to worship him”)

21 Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.

22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for such the Father seeks to worship him.

24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."
