GodofVice007: I think God might be indifferent about ignorance. He may not like other things, you know, public stoning,…

RKC: How can God “not like” stoning when he commands Moses to do so?

Leviticus 24

23 So Moses spoke to the people of Israel; and they brought him who had cursed out of the camp, and stoned him with stones. Thus the people of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses.

Numbers 15

35 And the LORD said to Moses, "The man shall be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp."

36 And all the congregation brought him outside the camp, and stoned him to death with stones, as the LORD commanded Moses.

GodofVice007: deliberate murder…

RKC: Do you believe Moses (Exodus 2:12) and David (2 Samuel 11) murdered? I don’t, but Christians seem to accept these incidents and still follow the teachings of these prophets.

GodofVice007: and mutilations…

RKC: According to Paul, God liked mutilations.

Genesis 17

9 And God said to Abraham, "As for you, you shall keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.

10 This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your descendants after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised.

11 You shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you.

12 He that is eight days old among you shall be circumcised; every male throughout your generations, whether born in your house, or bought with your money from any foreigner who is not of your offspring,

13 both he that is born in your house and he that is bought with your money, shall be circumcised. So shall my covenant be in your flesh an everlasting covenant.

14 Any uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin shall be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant."

Philippians 3

1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is not irksome to me, and is safe for you.

2 Look out for the dogs, look out for the evil-workers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh.

3 For we are the true circumcision, who worship God in spirit, and glory in Christ Jesus, and put no confidence in the flesh.

Galatians 5

1 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand fast therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

2 Now I, Paul, say to you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you.

3 I testify again to every man who receives circumcision that he is bound to keep the whole law.

4 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.

5 For through the Spirit, by faith, we wait for the hope of righteousness.

6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision is of any avail, but faith working through love.

7 You were running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth?

8 This persuasion is not from him who calls you.

9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump.

10 I have confidence in the Lord that you will take no other view than mine; and he who is troubling you will bear his judgment, whoever he is.

11 But if I, brethren, still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? In that case the stumbling block of the cross has been removed.

12 I wish those who unsettle you would mutilate themselves!

GodofVice007:  but not ignorance.

RKC: How can the OT say the below and God be “indifferent about ignorance”?

Proverbs 19

1 Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a man who is perverse in speech, and is a fool.

2 It is not good for a man to be without knowledge, and he who makes haste with his feet misses his way.
